Infographic: Recycling water to build resilient landscapes

September 8, 2020

A drop in the groundwater table jeopardizes a connected ecosystem – from irrigation wells to wetlands and forests to migrating fish. Groundwater depletion also cuts off rivers from the groundwater that sustains their flows. Climate change, increased pressures from urbanization and more require that we think differently about how to replenish the groundwater that serves as critical reservoirs. Recycled water can help reverse some of the impacts of the over-pumping and build a more resilient ecosystem.
