Mark Porter
Science Director

Mark brings nearly 20 years of modeling and forecasting knowledge to The Freshwater Trust. He has worked on a variety of hydrologic projects including geologic carbon sequestration, river and reservoir management, and quantifying potential impacts to water resources and developing mitigation measures for engineering projects. Mark holds a Ph.D. in Water Resources Engineering from Oregon State University, a M.S. in Applied Mathematics from Colorado State University, and a B.A. in Mathematics from Hartwick College. As a Scientist, he works on developing hydrologic models, groundwater models, and data analytic tools to support TFT’s mission. When not in the office, you can find Mark running on trails, playing the banjo, camping, and watching live music.
