Eugene Wier
Restoration Program Manager

Eugene has 20 years of research and habitat restoration experience. He has worked with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, U.S. Forest Service, University of California-Davis, Rogue Valley Council of Governments, Bureau of Land Management and the U.S. Geological Survey. Eugene holds a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Studies from Southern Oregon University. As a Restoration Program Manager out of The Freshwater Trust’s Ashland, Oregon office, Eugene oversees the successful implementation and stewardship of a variety of restoration projects throughout southern Oregon. When Eugene’s not working along a stream or river, he is likely to be found waist deep in one, casting flies, or tramping through the bush in search of the wild things and wild places that inspire and inform his work.

Eugene’s Why: If you were offered the chance to make a living restoring streams and rivers, wouldn’t you?
