Karin Power
Associate General Counsel

Karin brings knowledge and expertise in real estate, land use, and environmental and natural resources law to The Freshwater Trust. She has worked with entities such as the Sustainable Cities Initiative and Westwind Stewardship Group to develop innovative conservation and ecosystems-based approaches to funding and protecting environmental resources, and immediately prior to joining The Freshwater Trust, worked for a local Fortune 500 company in commercial real estate. As Associate General Counsel, Karin works closely with staff and stakeholders to develop contracts and agreements that support our on-the-ground restoration work. She holds a bachelor’s degree in international relations from Mount Holyoke College in Massachusetts and a Juris Doctor and Certificate in Environmental and Natural Resources Law from Lewis and Clark Law School. Outside the office, she serves as State Representative for Oregon House District 41, and enjoys fixing up her old house, gardening, and spending time with her family.

Karin’s Why: I work at TFT because as a lawyer, I get to use my expertise to work alongside amazing colleagues to achieve environmental improvement that produces results in real time.
