
Willamette Basin
- The Willamette basin contains approximately 70 percent of Oregon's population.
- It is bound on the west by the Coast Range and on the east by the Cascade Range, encompassing the Willamette Valley.
- Large dams on most Cascade tributaries control valley flooding, but significantly alter fish passage and stream flow throughout the basin.
- The dominate economies are a high tech, diverse agricultural production forestry and wood products industries.
