Umatilla Basin

• This basin includes the Umatilla and Walla Walla rivers, springing from the Blue Mountains and the Willow Creek drainages.
• The dominate economies are ranching, cattle ranching, forest products and wheat.
• Confederated Tribes of the Umatilla Indian Reservation resides in this basin, and the tribe is active in fish and wildlife resource management.
• The Umatilla Basin contains a successful site of reintroduction of spring Chinook, a population previously wiped out for more than 75 years.
